We believe that education changes lives. No matter a person’s background or life choices, education enables growth and transformation. Seeds work in collaboration with education providers, universities and other designers, manufacturers, and creatives to teach programmes in art, architecture and design.

Seeds most recent project is a collaboration between The University of Brighton, Stage One Creative Services, HMYOI Wetherby and prison education providers Novus Education as part of The Global Free Unit’s network of worldwide educational classrooms.

The process

Seeds Education is a creative process that invites students to engage imaginatively with their environment. The creative process enables learners to stretch their generative, evaluative and collaborative capabilities. The process nurtures and develops the creative cognition of our students. The open design process allows the classroom to be adjusted to meet individual needs and skills, whilst promoting improvisation, exploration, trial and error. The creative act nurtures self-expression, new ideas and new ways of thinking.

The experience

Students will take a step back and look at the world around them. This creates a set of shared experiences. These experiences are then translated into works of art that explore distance and time, material, scale and context.
