The Rising Stars of Real Estate
Seeds Managing Director Claire Shepherd has been nominated as one of 49 rising stars, the women behind the headlines, who are going to shake up the real estate sector in 2019.
Claire Shepherd
Claire was practically weaned on mortar, with innovation and entrepreneurship in her veins from her roots in her Scottish family’s company trading in commercial and residential property in the UK and U.S. She followed in the family tradition, but in a far from traditional way.
While leading prison and homeless services for Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, where she won several awards, she researched the impact of the built environment on health and wellbeing.
What she discovered is that what makes us happy and productive is universal — and that though wellbeing is talked about, it is rarely an explicit design consideration in the real estate world. This led to her teaming up with architect Karl Lenton to design Seedpods, creating sanctuary, wherever it is needed.
Claire’s vision is that everyone can flourish and that through her company Seeds she will create the conditions within real estate for wellbeing and happiness for everyone.
When she is not making her dreams a reality she practices meditation and is completing a master’s at Bangor University in teaching mindfulness. As well as loving art and creativity, she can often be found galloping her racehorse and swimming in our wild seas and rivers, mindfully of course.
Be inspired. Take time and enjoy the other 48 truly impressive, creative, clever women here.
